Summer 2005 Field Trips August 5-7, 2005 30th Annual Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club Show Ishpeming Elks Club Hall 597 Lake Shore Drive Ishpeming, Michigan Free Admission August 5 - Field Trips to Local Quarries for micromount. Hard Hat and Goggles required. August 6 - Show with demonstrations, display, dealers and silent auction 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (All times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time) August 7 - Field Trip to Lindberg Quarry for Kona Dolomite. Hard Hat and Goggles required.
Sell or Swap Saturday August 6, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Set up your own table or sell or swap from the trunk of your car. Bring your own chairs. Rest rooms located on site: eating places nearby.
Space available for all who sell or swap, outside $10.00, inside $25.00 per 8 lineal feet. Maximum 16 lineal feet. (Limited Supply of inside tables). Inside by reservation. First come first serve. Advance phone call to contact persons required followed by payment.
Crackerbarrel Saturday August 6,7:00 p.m. Exchange ideas. Ask questions. Meet fellow rockhounds. Crackerbarrel will be held indoors. Speaker to be announced at a later date. Drawing for raffle prizes at 9:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Field Trips - Hard Hats Required Friday, August 5 to local iron mines for mineral specimens - meet in Pamida parking lot at 9:00- a.m. (Marquette, MI).
Sunday, August 7, to Lindberg's Quarry to collect Kona Dolomite, starting from the Negaunee Township Hall at 12:30 p.m. (or meet at the Quarry at 1:00 p.m.) sign up for Sunday's field trip at the Saturday's show -Cost $2.00 per person. (Hand tools only- no power tools). See pictures below.
