Middle-Upper Pennsylvanian Extinction, Recovery, and Its Implications by  Cary R. Easterday,  U.I.C.C.

 

Gary Easterday, a Phd Student, will be giving a Paleontology presentation on Extinction events in the Pennsylvanian. Visitors are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

 

February 10, 2006 GENERAL MEETING

"Mount Vesuvius and the Nature of Volcanic Eruptions

 Dr. Philip Janney, Department of Geology, Field Museum of Natural History will be giving a presentation on volcanoes with a special emphasis on the new exhibit at the Field Museum on Pompeii. Visitors are welcome. Refreshments will be served

"Evolving Planet by  Richard Kissel from the Field Museum

The presentation will cover the new Field Museum Exhibit showing 4 billion years of life on Earth, from single-celled organisms to towering dinosaurs and our extended human family. Visitors are welcome.  Refreshments will be served

 

Sept 8, 2006     GENERAL MEETING 

                               College of DuPage Bldg. K Building, Rm 161 8:00 P.M.

“Green River Formation” by Jim Holstein, Field Museum 

 Jim Holstein from the Field Museum will discuss the Green River formation and its famous fossil fish.. Visitors are welcome.  Refreshments will be served.

October 13, 2006     GENERAL MEETING 

                               College of DuPage Bldg. K Building, Rm 161 8:00 P.M.

"Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit given by Robert Cantu from the Education Department of the Field Museum.
