Celebrate National Fossil Day w/Burpee Museum of Natural History on Saturday Oct. 10th . National Fossil Day is a celebration organized by the National Park service to promote public awareness & stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of the scientific and educational values.
Burpee has many exclusive activities for the event including-
1) Five special paleo-exhibitors that will showcase: local fossil collections, 3D scanning techniques, key specimens from the Burpee Collection & more
2) The 1st 150 kids who visit all the exhibit stations will receive assorted fossil shark teeth so they can start their own collection.
3) There will be 2 educator led workshops (at 11AM & 2PM) where kids will see how fossil casts are made & get to paint their own cast specimen. There is a $5 fee for one workshop or $7 for both.
4) At 1PM there will be an exclusive presentation that will recap Burpee’s 2015 paleo-field season! Be the FIRST to get a sneak peak of our new discoveries
5) There will be 2 Jurassic Park Jeeps parked at Burpee for photo ops.
