For this week, we are going to stay near Whitby, England. We start with a few pictures of the breathtaking scenery and finish up with some awesome ammonites. Whitby is on the eastern coast of England, with in the North York Moors National Park. It is surrounded by bays on the English Channel, that are full of fossils from the Jurassic Period. The fossils are found in concretions, which need to be broken open (or prepared) to expose the fossil within.
These beautiful fossils were collected by ESCONI member Rhonda Gates and were collected just a month ago in March 2020. Thanks for the contribution!
