On Tuesday, we had a post about the "Last Trilobites". The Phillipsiidae was one of the trilobite families that made it through to the Permian in Kansas. Ameura and Ditomopyge are small species that cane be found in the rocks of the Flint Hills in northeastern Kansas. Complete specimens are fairly rare, but pygidiums are not uncommon.
Here are some specimens including some enrolled examples, although they are more flattened than rolled.
