Today, we have more Mazon Creek plants. These are several specimens of Diplazites unita from the collection of Marie Angkuw and Andrew Young. Both are ESCONI members. If you need an identification of a Mazon Creek fossil, Andrew is one of the best. He is a professional artist and has been constructing a new website of his work. Additionally, he was one of the editors of the last two ESCONI Associates books - "The Mazon Creek Fossil Fauna" and "The Comprehensive Guide to the Fossil Flora of Mazon Creek" both by Jack Wittry. Marie claims to never find anything good, but from what I've seen that's certainly not the case! They have been ESCONI members and Mazon collectors for more than 10 years.
All of these were collected from the Mazon River. The first stunning specimen is terminal foliage.
Next is a delightful fertile form.
And, lastly is a section of mature foliage.
