Time for another preview for the 2023 ESCONI Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show. Expect quite a few more!
Back to the minerals... This is a chunk Colemanite from Death Valley. Colemanite is a borate mineral found in evaporite deposits. This particular specimen comes from the Wilbert Rath collection. Wilbert and his wife Marge were very active in ESCONI during the 1950's and 1960's. Wilbert was one of the driving forces in the creation of the "Plant Life Through the Ages" display in the 1950's.
