The Illinois Canal Corridor Association is holding its 26th Annual Boat Captain’s Luncheon on April 14th, 2023 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. You might remember the CCA from their annual Mazon Creek fossil trips every August, where you get a chance to collect fossils from the actual Mazon River. The Mazon Creek Fossil Crew is one of the honorees. Come on out and have a tasty lunch and celebrate an organization that cares deeply about the history of the Chicago area! Started by Canal Corridor Association Chairman, John Trutter, in 1992, the 26th Boat Captain’s Luncheon will take place on Friday, April 14th, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, held at the stunning Bolingbrook Golf Club, located at 2001 Rodeo Drive, Bolingbrook, Illinois.
The Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Area (IMCNHA) is a collection of places and a community of people and organizations who cherish the stories, history, buildings, and landscape of those places. This year, we are celebrating some of the Placekeepers, Storytellers, and Builders among us.
