The Midwest Federation of Mineralogical & Geological Societies (MWF) is holding their 2024 convention in East Peoria on August 24 and 25, 2024. In honor of that event, we present some photos of the 1956 convention, which was held in St. Paul, Minnesota from July 12th to 15th 1956. This convention was billed as the "Largest Mineral and Gem Exhibition Ever Held in the Midwest". The following announcement appeared in the May 1956 edition of the newsletter.
ESCONI had parts of what would become the "Plant Life Through the Ages" exhibit on display. That exhibit was created by ESCONI members.
Displays

There was a field trip to the Lutz Quarry as part of the convention. Check out those old buses!
